How it works

  1. 1

Upload the PDF you want to summarize: a report, a contract, notes or a paper.

  2. 2

Pick the length (short, medium or long) and the format, Markdown or text.

  3. 3

Download the summary with the key points and per-page sections.

Frequently asked questions

Does the summary make things up?

In standard mode, no: the summary is built from verbatim sentences of the document itself, each with its page number, so you can check them.

What's the difference between short, medium and long?

Short gives 4 key points; medium gives 7 plus one per section; long gives 12 and up to three per section. Long documents are grouped into page ranges.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

Without the PRO plan, no: Summarize PDF runs entirely in your browser and the document never leaves your device. With PRO it's processed on our server: it travels encrypted, is handled in memory and is deleted automatically after one hour. It's never used to train models.

Is it free? Are there any limits?

Yes: free, no sign-up, and no watermark on the result. Without an account or with a free account it runs in your browser, with no fixed limit on files or pages. With the PRO plan it's processed on our server, with files up to 100 MB. With the PRO plan, scanned PDFs automatically go through Advanced AI OCR (Google Cloud Vision), which reads handwriting and complex scans. The PRO plan (5 USD/month or 38 USD/year) includes 500 pages of Advanced OCR and 100 Advanced AI operations every month; once used up, it keeps working with the standard engine at no extra cost.
