How it works

  1. 1

Upload the scanned PDF or one made from photos.

  2. 2

Tick the document's languages and, if needed, “Straighten skewed pages”.

  3. 3

Download the PDF with an invisible text layer you can search and copy.

Frequently asked questions

Which languages does the OCR recognize?

Spanish, English, Portuguese, French, German, Italian and Catalan. Tick every language in the document: it greatly improves accuracy.

Does OCR change how the PDF looks?

No. The page looks exactly the same; an invisible text layer is simply added underneath so you can search, select and copy.

Is it processed in my browser or on a server?

OCR PDF uses a hybrid engine: whatever can be done in your browser happens there, with nothing uploaded; when the server is needed, files travel encrypted, are processed in memory and deleted after one hour.

Is it free? Are there any limits?

Yes: free, no sign-up, and no watermark on the result. Without signing up, each file can be up to 50 MB (up to 20 files per task); signing in for free or with PRO raises it to 100 MB, and the PRO plan expands request limits and unlocks AI tools. With the PRO plan you can choose Advanced AI OCR (Google Cloud Vision), which reads handwriting, receipts, tables and complex scans.
